Allison Janney

AllisonAllison Brooks Janney was born on the 19th of November, 1959. The actress is an American actress. She is well-known for her work across various genres on stage and screen during her career of three decades. Janney has been nominated for two Tony Awards and has been awarded the Academy Award as well as an award from the British Academy Film Award. Janney was born in Boston but was raised in Dayton (Ohio). Janney got a grant to education at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art when she completed her studies at Kenyon College. Following a string of minor and uncredited film and television appearances, Janney's breakthrough came with the role of C. J. Cregg in The West Wing, an NBC the political show The West Wing (1999-2006) where she earned the award of four Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2014, she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series due to her performance as Margaret Scully on the Showtime period drama Masters of Sex.
